Early on the morning of September 29, 2009, Samoa was hit by a powerful earthquake. Minutes later, the south coast was devastated by tsunami's which washed away coastal villages, seaside resorts and hotels and killed over 140 people, the majority of whom were children. Now the worst natural disaster in Samoa's recent history has left thousands of people homeless. The 92909 Samoa Tsunami Relief Organization was founded to help victims of the terrible tsunamis. Our goal is to provide support and give hope in their darkest hour. We want them to have a chance to recover and bring their lives back to normal.

WHO WE ARE
92909 Samoa Tsunami Relief Organizaton was founded by families in Northern California
with relations and friends in Samoa whose lives were tragically affected by the Tsunamis.
We are all volunteering our time and effort to raise the resources needed to
make a signifigant contribution helping the people who are suffering from this tragedy.

92909 SAMOA TSUNAMI RELIEF MISSION
1. Many villages, hotels and schools along the coast were lost. People are relocating inland, away from the sea. Their most important need is for shelter. International aid has provided tents for temporary protection. Our goal is to provide tools to enable the people to start working on building permanent homes. We will supply 250 tool kits, consisting of hammers, saws, measuring tapes and nails. In addition, we will supply tools to help establish their farming efforts with implements such as spades and bush knives.
2. The Aleipata District High School was badly damaged and will be reconstructed inland. We will assist in this building effort by providing a computer lab and multi-media center. We need your help to purchase computers, printer-scanners, projectors, screens and digital cameras as well as all supplies needed to set up the center. We will work closely with the Department of Education for the District to insure proper computer instruction will be made available.
